<英文>
I would like to bring to your attention a group calling itself “World Squash Development Organisation (WSDO)” on social media channels, following several concerned messages from members of the squash community.
Firstly, please be aware that WSDO is in no way affiliated with World Squash, any Continental or National Federation, or the PSA Squash Tour.
The WSDO purports to be “Working Worldwide For Promotion, Growth And Development Of Squash” but to the best of our understanding, it has no physical presence and undertakes no development work.
Instead, the account has published several fake posts, including attributing fictitious quotes to a number of players, has made unfounded allegations against a number of figures in the game and unsolicited contact with several players, including junior players. Further, we are of the opinion that the creators of the page appear to have named it so to imply a connection with World Squash in an attempt to afford it legitimacy it does not have.
This can cause problems if members of the public or key external stakeholders mistakenly consider WSDO as being connected to World Squash, a problem that is exacerbated when established squash authorities lend it credibility.”
We have requested the page changes its name and adds a disclaimer stating it has no affiliation with the sport’s governing bodies but have had no response. We are currently exploring legal options but in the meantime request that exercise caution in any engagements with the page.
Thank you for your support and please don’t hesitate to reach out should you need additional information.
